Welsh Slate Staircase
Welsh Slate Products Ltd were approached by a stonemason seeking high-quality limestone for a bespoke staircase project. We sourced and supplied a selection of suitable limestone samples, which were reviewed and approved by the client.
Once the design was finalised and templates were received, we made the staircase to exact specifications. The finished limestone staircase was then expertly installed by the stonemason, achieving a stunning result that showcased both craftsmanship and material quality.

From the initial consultation with the stone suppliers we worked closely with them on the manufacturing and installation of the bespoke slate wall. The project took 7 months in total.
From the initial consultation to the final install Welsh Slate Products Ltd worked closely with the private individuals and architects to achieve the goals set out.
The brief was initially a honed wall but the specification changed to riven natural finish which in itself caused a few problems due to the nature of the material. The pieces on the wall ranged from small triangle up to large pieces 1400mm x 1400mm x 30mm. The size of these pieces proved quite challenging to fix!
Welsh Slate Hearth Cutting and Finishing
The location is measured and design agreed with the customer. The piece of slate is inspected for any cracks, split then cut to size. It is then finished and fitted in place.
Grand Designs
Marcus Beck approached us for a bespoke welsh slate island and countertop for a property he was building off grid in a woodland. The couple were building their home in Pembrokeshire under Wales’ One Planet Development scheme policy which scrutinises their living from how they get their food and transport miles.
Suitable material was sourced from one of the local quarries, cleared by the client and the island and countertop were produced to fit their beautiful and functional kitchen.

Welsh Slate Table
One of our clients had ordered a full slate table about two years earlier. For this new project, they wanted a Welsh slate top paired with wooden legs. We sourced some spalted ash locally from Portmeirion through a joiner we regularly work with. (Spalted ash is wood that has been discoloured and patterned by fungi but making it strong and durable and very sought after material). The design was approved by the client before the build, and then the table was made to their specifications.
DIY SOS Project in Llanberis
As part of the DIY SOS programme, a call was put out to local trades, and I volunteered to create a custom bench. Due to project delays, including some dreadful Welsh weather, the specification was revised on site. The final outcome included a bespoke slate window cill with accompanying walling, along with a handcrafted Welsh slate bench.
